ENDORSEMENTS

NCAAT in Action endorses George Griffin for re-election to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education!

Note:NCAAT endorsed all three candidates (me, Riza Jenkins, and Melinda Manning).

“This endorsement reflects George’s demonstrated commitment to the issues that matter most to communities of color, especially Asian American communities, across our state. At a time when principled and community-rooted leadership is more critical than ever, his candidacy offers a powerful vision for a more equitable, inclusive, and thriving North Carolina.

Being endorsed by NCAAT in Action signifies more than alignment; it's a reflection of dedication to advancing policies that uplift historically marginalized communities and ensure all North Carolinians have the opportunity to succeed and feel safe. We are honored to stand alongside you in this election and support your efforts to lead with purpose and integrity.”

INDY “...is pleased to endorse George Griffin...”

Note: Indy endorsed all three candidates (me, Riza Jenkins, and Melinda Manning).

“The CHCCS board has faced its fair share of challenges in recent years—and the job is not getting any easier as the board looks at carrying out the construction paid for by the recent bond, consolidating elementary schools as enrollment declines, and figuring out how to maintain the same levels of excellence in a time when everything costs more and state funding declines along with student enrollment.

The board’s most daunting challenge will be in how to communicate solutions to the public, and how to maintain trust when those solutions cause some pain.

George Griffin and Riza Jenkins have proven themselves as effective leaders and communicators in their terms on the board. Griffin’s service in education goes back to the 1970s, and it shows in his knowledge of policy and adeptness in running board meetings. In addition to four years on the CHCCS board, Griffin also served as an administrator in Durham and Wake counties and at the state level.”

Mary Beth Roche, Digital Wellness Educator

Dr. Griffin’s experience in and knowledge of our district/schools and our state education system is unmatched. Most importantly, he has proven to be an open-minded and fair leader who truly listens. He has demonstrated a willingness to learn and grow from our district’s community members about the issues and challenges we face. He is dedicated to making a difference and actively working toward purposeful, positive change.

Dr. Griffin is committed to our school community. We are lucky to have him and I am grateful that he will be serving our community for another term.”
